About me

Rome 2008
My name is Josipa Cvelić. I was born in Rijeka, Croatia in July of 1981. I got my telecommunications degree 5 years ago on the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), Zagreb. With my first paycheck I bought my first camera (Fuji S5000). Very soon i fell inlove with photography. I’ve learned a lot about it just by watching the photos of my online friends and listening to their suggestions.
I am not sure if I would ever want to make photography my job. I somehow prefer keeping it as a perfect way of escaping the boring side of life.
So far i have had one exhibition in December of 2008. It was a charity event that took place in a little old town Dobrinj on the island Krk.
My photos have been published in a Croatian nautical magazine Nautica and one photo was published in 10th issue of a relatively new online magazine called Bulb (nowadays Blur).
Photo equipment
Canon 350d (just ordered a Canon 500d as an upgrade).
Lenses:
- Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
- Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS (ordered)
- Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
- Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro
- Sigma 10-20mm 1:4-5.6 EX DC HSM
Other than that there are couple of mostly Cokin filters (circular polarizer, UV filters, infrared, graduated and a close up filter), Canon remote control and a Canon Speedlite 430EX II flash.
My underwater photos are taken with Olympus µ725SW. I also on occasions use my Holga.
In the end enjoy a series of my portraits, autoportraits and well auto-hmm-remodelings ;)
